MeetMe – one of the most popular US apps for dating
MeetMe is one of the first options that come to mind when thinking of a dating app. It helps like-minded people look for matches nearby, flirt and invite them to meet in person. The app supports live streams, private chats and is completely free.

Interface – 7/10
The MeetMe design is attractive enough. Nice colours (white and violet), looks a bit like Viber, but more pleasant to me. The buttons are of good-size even for people with large thumbs. There are four basic menu sections: Meet, Chat, Discuss and Me, so you can easily find the necessary one if you need to contact someone, update profile information, join the community or look for hookup candidates nearby. MeetMe is easy to sign up and nice to use. It is 7 instead of 10 for way too annoying ads with sound.
Features – 10/10
Here are the key features of the latest MeetMe app version:
- Signing up in a few clicks with basic information;
- Additional features and customization for Lunch Money – it can be earned by simple actions within the app, such as daily visits, playing games, etc.;
- Funny games with real photos, for example, Owned or Blind Date;
- Well-structured basic search by age, geolocation and interests;
- Secret Admirers to discover – another MeetMe addictive perk;
- Live Feed;
- Ask Me tool.
There is hardly any single in the United States (any beyond) who have never tried to use MeetMe. This is one of the top apps in the niche of dating apps. It creates a relaxed and playful atmosphere removing unnecessary shyness and phycological barriers in ice-breaking communication, flirting and such. Users’ evaluations on Google Play and App Store are vivid: the average rating is a lot higher than in similar apps. I can’t even imagine, what can be added there.
Performance and user experience – 9/10
The performance of updated MeetMe seems great. Most of Google Play and App Store users would agree. In the Google Play, there are more than 7x more positive than negative reviews. The average rating of Android-users is 4.2, while iOS users gave a stable 4 out of 5, what is impressive for such kind of apps, to compare it with POF, Scout and Tagged ratings. While there are some negative reviews about the sign in errors as well, I cannot rate the app higher than 9/10.
Devices Compatibility – 9/10
To use MeetMe on your device, it is enough to have a more or less popular Android device – in fact, it flawlessly works on 4.1 (I’ve tested) and up. As for iOS, you need to have iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with 9.0 and up. There is an official app version for Windows Phone as well available at Microsoft Store. The only minor drawback is that the app is not available for iOS 7.0 and 8.0 that are still used in many countries.
If you feel like going out tonight, looking for a match or just want to enjoy light flirting and play games – MeetMe is a must-try. It is such an easy and thrilling way to discover new people nearby or have fun playing games with a secret admirer. Everything you consider best memories from your teen time and even more can be found in this app. I recommend it to singles (and not only them, maybe).
