Pinterest: Dive into the Colorful World of Pictures

Pinterest is a great Android and iOS app to design and colour your life. Get new inspiration every day and find out more about home, make-up, street style, interior design, and recipes. Unlike other social media, it focuses on visual images rather than on blogs, messages, news or music. It’s a new way to discover the visual world. The mobile app looks like its website.

Interface – 8/10

Both iTunes and Google Play apps are simple to get on your smartphone or tablet PC. The app has been translated into different languages. As soon as you get an invitation from Pinterest and log in, you will see the main dashboard. Upon signing up, you’ll be able to install a bookmark button to pin pictures found on the Web. Start browsing through pins, add your own ones and manage your settings. You can view popular images, pictures you looked thought by clicking “History” or random pictures by clicking “Everything”. Search for people, boards, or pins. On your profile, you’ll find followers and those you are following. Add your profile photo, location and contact information on your profile.

Choose your interests and see the content you determined. To avoid irrelevant information, just press “Not relevant” or “I don’t like the recommendations” box. You can also make subcategories. For example, you can create a board called Paris and Nice in the category France. If you haven’t any ideas, explore images that other users uploaded. Everything you save becomes searchable. Users can also post comments on photos they have picked.

Features – 8/10

Let’s have a look at the app key features:

  • Great source for the new ideas and inspiration. Find a new hobby, recipe, style or handicraft;
  • Save your ideas and divide them into topics and share them with friends;
  • Search pictures by category, keyword or using your camera: point the camera at the object you are interested in and Pinterest will find similar pictures.

Performance and User Experience – 8/10

The latest version of Pinterest works fast although some users complain about its freezing on Windows and force close after looking through 10 or more pins. They also complain about countless ads, useless notifications, and auto-update feature. Some people notice that uploading pins from a mobile phone takes too long. However, users like Pinterest for organizing thoughts, idea boards, tasty recipes and style ideas. They use content for work, home, and hobbies.

Devices Compatibility – 9/10

Twitter app is compatible with the most modern devices working on iOS (iOS 9.0 or later, available for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch), Windows and Android.

The Verdict

Pinterest is an awesome tool to fawn over your favourite topics and get creative inspiration. It showcases thing people like and admire like beautiful nature, cities, home décor, make-up, food, cars, etc. Its latest update allows users to categorize their preferable items and search for other users with similar interests. It may be less interactive than Facebook or Instagram, but here users express their opinion and passion through the visual world.
